Lenz Heat App

1. Where can I download the Lenz heat app from?

The Lenz heat app is available to download for free from the App Store and the Google Play Store.

2. What are the minimum requirements for my phone to be able to install and run the Lenz heat app?

Smartphone requirements for running the Lenz heat app:

- Android 4.1 or above and iOS 10.0 or above
- Bluetooth 4.0 (SMART ready)

3. Why can’t the lithium packs connect with my smartphone even though Bluetooth is active and my phone meets the minimum requirements?

You can find out which Bluetooth devices are connected to your smartphone via Bluetooth (e.g. Smart Home, SmartWatch, hands-free sets, etc.) by checking under Settings -> General. Most smartphone manufacturers allow a maximum of 6 to 10 devices to be connected at the same time. If this number is exceeded, the lithium packs will not be able to connect to your smartphone. A couple of devices connected to your phone via Bluetooth will need to be disconnected. You can then restart the process of connecting the lithium packs to your smartphone.

4. Why does the Lenz heat app need location permissions and why do the location services need to be enabled to search for Bluetooth devices?

The location permissions are required to search for devices that use Bluetooth Low Energy connections.
If the location services and/or the location permissions are deactivated for the Lenz heat app, the Android smartphone and the Lenz heat app cannot find the Bluetooth Low Energy sensor’s hardware ID, so no connection can be established with the sensor.

Important: only applies to Android devices, this permission is not necessary with iOS!

5. Why does the Lenz heat app need location permissions and why do the location services need to be enabled to search for Bluetooth devices?

To ensure that it runs smoothly, the old Lenz heat app with the following icon must be uninstalled on the smartphone. The new Lenz heat app is not an update but a new app.

The new Lenz heat app can then be downloaded from the Play Store/App Store as described in question 1. The following icon will then appear, the new Lenz heat app has been successfully installed.

6. Can the Bluetooth-enabled lithium packs be operated manually as well as by the smartphone?

The lithium packs rcb 1200/rcb 1800 and the lithium pack rcb 1200 insole can be operated manually (by pressing a button on the lithium pack) as well as by smartphone.

7. How does the Lenz heat app works?

Lenz heat app basic - Pairing

To control the lithium packs using the Lenz heat app they must be connected to a smartphone.
Pairing the lithium packs works as follows:

1. Check if "Location" and "Bluetooth" are activated on the smartphone

Bluetooth and location deactivated

Bluetooth and location activated

2. Activate pairing mode on the lithium packs – to do that, press and hold the function button
for 10 seconds. The middle LED will then flash steadily.

3. Tap “search for lithium packs” and assign the lithium packs to the appropriate product.

The red text in the header shows how many lithium packs have been found.
You can assign a lithium pack with “ADD (+)”.

When the lithium pack has been assigned to the required product, you can “save” the settings.

Lenz heat app - LED blinken

The icon with LEDs enables you to “identify” the connected lithium packs.
The LEDs blink on the lithium packs.

This function is possible with the 2016 generation of batteries onwards.

Lenz heat app - Farben zuordnen

Coloured elastic bands are attached to every lithium pack. This can help you identify
the packs if you are using multiple lithium packs which are paired with the Lenz heat app.

This means that, for example, the lithium packs for the heat socks and for the heat vest
can be colour coded. The elastic bands are attached to the middle of the lithium packs
so that they can’t slip off. These colours can be assigned in the app:

Menu “...” > My Lithium Packs > Settings icon for the relevant lithium pack > Assign colour >
choose colour and save.

Lenz heat app - heat sync

You can set the heat level from 1 to 9 or turn the lithium packs off using “Heat Sync”.

Lenz heat app - heat left right

It is also possible to the control the right and left lithium packs separately using “Heat Left | Right”.

Lenz heat app - intervall

The lifetime of the lithium packs can be extended by using the interval function. If the “ON” button
lights up green, the interval function is on and the small menu window in the footer starts to flash slightly.
If the “OFF” button is red, the interval function is off.

As soon as the app is minimised (but not ended) and the connection is disconnected (after approx.
30 seconds) the interval function on the lithium pack is active and indicated by the LEDs on the lithium pack.
Interval heating ON = fast flashing of LEDs on the lithium pack
Interval heating OFF = slow flashing of LEDs on the lithium pack

When the function key on the lithium pack is pressed, this ends the interval mode – until the app is
activated again.

Important: The "Interval mode" function is possible with the 2016 generation of batteries onwards.

Lenz heat app - LED on/off

LED ON/OFF: Using this function, you can turn the LEDs on the lithium pack on/off
(if you’re out hunting, for example).

The heating mode is still available even if you select LED OFF.

Lenz heat app - LED system

As soon as a lithium pack is connected to an LED system 1.0, the menu interface automatically
switches to the "LED menu" within a few seconds.

Depending on the lithium pack’s software status, different modes can be set here on the
LED system 1.0 (colour, light modes, brightness, dimming, ON/OFF, etc.).
If the LED system 1.0 is disconnected from the lithium pack again, the menu interface automatically
switches back from the app to the heating menu again.

Important: Controlling the LED system 1.0 using the Lenz heat app is possible from the 2016 generation
of batteries onwards. Any older battery packs can set the LED system 1.0 functions manually to a limited
extent using the function key.

Lenz heat app - menü

You can get back to the main menu by tapping on the “...” symbol in the top left corner in the app.

You can view the heat settings by tapping on the “Home” symbol in the top right corner in the app.
